  •  Desktop computers typically have one Ethernet connection. This means if the network adapter fails, the “server” is inaccessible.
• This means failure of a Power Supply does not impact server operation. Server chassis’ support Dual/Redundant/Hot Swap Power Supplies. 
  • Desktop computers have one power supply. If the PSU fails, the “server” is inoperable.
• Servers have a Redundant Array of Independent Drives and Hot Swap Hard Drives. This means if one (or more) Hard Disks fail, the server continues to be operable.  
  •  Desktop computers typically have one hard drive. This means when that Hard Drive fails, the “server” is inoperable.
• Servers have 24/7 support and Next Business Day on-site service from the manufacturer. This means when an unrecoverable hardware failure does occur, recovery efforts are fast.
  • Desktop computers typically come with consumer grade post-sales support, which is often severely lacking when you are faced with a critical system outage and your ability to conduct business is negatively impacted.
